Dingle Community Theatre...
"Making Drama with the Community"
Dingle Community Theatre is a Registered Charity, (charity register no: 1098183) specialising in Drama and Performance, operating from The Dingle Area of Liverpool.
It consists of a Community Drama Group, which has a full annual programme. It also has a "core" group of experienced actors and performers who produce its specialised Drama productions in areas such as Health and Education.
The vast majority of the group are amateur actors with a love for performance and a positive attitude to the Community. We do, however, work with professional actors and Theatre Professionals.
What is Dingle Community theatre and who is involved?
If you would like to book any of the plays you’ve seen for your organisation, or you would like to book Dingle Community Theatre or Homefront Productions for workshops, or you’d like to get involved in our community drama group, please email us:

The group’s Annual Programme aims to produce good quality Drama Events, which reflect positively on the history and the culture of the Dingle and neighbouring area of Liverpool.
Membership is open to the public and auditions for productions are held throughout the year, membership not being a condition for being chosen for a show. The group also organize non-performance Drama events such as workshops.
We produce a quarterly newsletter for group members.
Dingle Community theatre’s Youth Drama Group, Perform L8, was set up recently with assistance from Capital of Culture and Merseyside Expanding Horizons. It too
has a programme of regular events for Young people. Participation in these events is open to non-members and members alike.
Dingle Community Theatre's long-term ambition is to be the host Company of a Community Theatre situated in the Dingle and serving the needs of the local area.
"How do we decide what we're doing next?"
This was one of the questions asked in our recent review of our work.
We have a “Projects Committee” which supervises what we do. This is made up of members of the Management Committee of Dingle Community Theatre and nominated members of the group generally. Basically the Projects Committee decides what we will do in two main ways.
If we apply for projects, such as those to do with Capital of Culture, then we might have to do what the “brief” tells us in the application. Otherwise, people put ideas forward using the “Projects Proposal Form” which you can access here….
It would be better if you were a member of the group when applying, but it’s not essential. You would, however, be expected to come to a Projects Committee meeting and put your proposal forward and if it was accepted, you would be expected to join the Projects committee for the duration of your project and support the group in producing your project.
If you’re interested in putting a project forward, you can send your proposal on the form to:
