"Making Drama with the Community"
Perform L8 Youth Group
Over the past 4 or 5 years Dingle Community Theatre has worked with groups of young people on plays, talent show and workshops. It was decided to set up Perform L8! to give a higher profile to the Youth Work.
Perform L8! runs regular Performance Events throughout the year, giving Arts Experience opportunities to young people in the community.
In 2006, with support from Expanding Horizons Perform L8! produced two special Youth Showcases: one on the theme of Human Rights - "Lost Voices" and one on the theme of Social Responsibility - "Crime and the Community.
Perform L8!'s also produced a modern version of Macbeth in December 2006 at Parklands Theatre.
Latest Production
In 2007 perform L8 performed a “Tempest” adaptation at the Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight in the Leverhulme festival; at the Liverpool Museum and Community College Arts Centre with the musical drama, “The Florrie” and at the Joe H Makin Theatre with the “Healthy Eating Show”.

Performed for the Diversity Arts Week, November 25th, 26th & 27th at Mt Carmel Catholic Social Club, The Caribbean Centre and Parklands CLC Speke.
Our Youth Group, Perform L8, also took on the issue of age stereotypes in this half hour play, where none of the usual stereotypes could be trusted.
