Alan Bower’s entertaining musical drama (“more entertaining than “The Sound of Fury” – Spencer Leigh) about the 60s Rock Giant, Billy Fury, sold out the Unity Theatre several times over when it played there in April of this year.
Its popularity wasn’t only testament to the quality of play and performances, but to the enduring regard for one of the Dingle’s most famous sons. Fury was born in Toxteth, suffered with poor health all his life,but fought his way through to Stardom with a string of Chart Topping hits like “Halfway to Paradise”.
